Hernando is a somewhat small town located in the state of Florida. With a population of 9,284 people and five associated neighborhoods, Hernando is the 217th largest community in Florida.Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Hernando is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Hernando is a town of service providers, professionals, and sales and office workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Hernando who work in sales jobs (9.09%), management occupations (8.52%), and maintenance occupations (8.02%). Also of interest is that Hernando has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US. One downside of living in Hernando, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 32.05 minutes every day commuting to work. This equates to an annual income of $113,604 for a family of four. However, Hernando contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.
