Navarre is a medium-sized coastal town (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Florida. With a population of 40,817 people and eight associated neighborhoods, Navarre is the 85th largest community in Florida. Navarre has seen a significant amount of newer housing growth in recent years. Quite often, new home construction is the result of new residents moving in who are middle class or wealthier, attracted by jobs, a healthy local economy, or other amenities as they leave nearby or far away areas for greener pastures. This seems to be the case in Navarre, where the median household income is $98,522.00.Navarre is neither predominantly blue-collar nor white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Navarre is a town of professionals, sales and office workers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Navarre who work in sales jobs (12.55%), office and administrative support (12.50%), and management occupations (9.24%). One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 9.83% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes. Because of many things, Navarre is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Navarre a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The town’s good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Navarre has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Navarre’s overall crime rate is lower than average for the country. Navarre is also nautical, which means that parts of it are somewhat historic and touch the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and bays. Such areas are often places that visitors and locals go for waterfront activities or taking in the scenery. One downside of living in Navarre is that it can take a long time to commute to work.
