Walden is a somewhat small village located in the state of New York. With a population of 6,909 people and three associated neighborhoods, Walden is the 254th largest community in New York. Walden has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic villages in the country.Unlike some villages where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Walden is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Walden is a village of professionals, sales and office workers, and service providers.
