Rhome is a very small city located in the state of Texas. With a population of 1,926 people and two associated neighborhoods, Rhome is the 707th largest community in Texas. There's nothing like the smell of a brand new house, and in Rhome, you'll find that a large proportion of houses were recently built. New growth in residential real estate is an indication that people are choosing to move to Rhome, and putting down their money on brand new construction. Rhome’s real estate is, on average, some of the newest in the nation. Rhome does seem to be experiencing an influx of affluent people, because the median household income is $90,969.00.
Of important note, Rhome is also a city of artists. Rhome has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Rhome’s character.
One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 13.49% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
It is a fairly quiet city because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Rhome has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Rhome has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Rhome than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Rhome may be for you.
One downside of living in Rhome, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 34.02 minutes every day commuting to work.
As is often the case in a small city, Rhome doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
The education level of Rhome citizens, measured as those with bachelor's degrees or advanced degrees, is similar to the national average for all American cities and towns. 20.24% of adults 25 and older in Rhome have a college degree.
The per capita income in Rhome in 2022 was $34,329, which is upper middle income relative to Texas, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $137,316 for a family of four. However, Rhome contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.
Rhome is a very ethnically-diverse city. The people who call Rhome home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Rhome residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Rhome also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 22.98% of the city’s residents. Important ancestries of people in Rhome include German, Irish, English, Scottish, and Italian.
The most common language spoken in Rhome is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and Chinese.
